How to Remove Location from Photos on iPhone & Android
While our tool is the fastest way to clean files before sharing, you can also limit what your phone records:
- On iPhone (iOS 17+): Go to Settings > Privacy > Location Services > Camera. Select “Never”. This stops your iPhone from geotagging future photos.
- On Android: Open your Camera App. Go to Settings (Gear Icon) and toggle off “Save Location” or “Geo tags”.
However, for photos you have ALREADY taken, you must use the tool above to scrub the data before posting to social media.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does removing metadata lower image quality?
No. We only strip the text headers hidden inside the file code. The actual pixel data (the image itself) remains 100% untouched and retains full quality.
Can I clean metadata from Word Documents (DOCX)?
Currently, we support JPG and PDF. For Word docs, we recommend saving them as a PDF first, then dragging the PDF into our tool above to sanitize it completely.
